Hej ~ a few months ago, we disconnected from FoxTel and got free to air satellite TV Optus D2 with religious and international channels (we live in a valley and don’t pick up antenna TV). One of the English channels is a dubbed Japanese news and current affairs channel..

They had a story on Myanmar (former Burma), about some protests against the military government. There was a journalist secretly taping it on a handy cam, and filmed another journalist, who was Japanese getting shot. His footage and voice over were made into a documentary which held lots of interest in Japan because of the journalist.

So what do you think? Did you hear about this? what’s been in the news lately? (I don’t pick up any regular news)
Did you know about Burma and the military government? I didn’t know anything about it…
Is western news too sugarcoated? or only sending propaganda?
